A friendly check-in call from Mary

Mary is a computer voice assistant from careplans AI. She rings for a short, friendly chat to see how you are going. She is not a real person, and she will tell you that herself at the start of every call. This page explains what to expect.

What happens on a call

Mary calls at times agreed with you or your care provider. A call usually takes about five minutes. She will ask how you are feeling, how you slept, whether you have eaten, and if anything is worrying you. There are no wrong answers, and you can say as much or as little as you like.

You are always in charge

You can end the call at any time, just by saying goodbye or hanging up. You can skip any question. You can ask Mary to call back later. And if you decide you no longer want the calls at all, tell Mary, your family, or your care provider, and they will stop.

What Mary does with what you tell her

After each call, Mary writes a short note for your care team. If you mention something important, like pain, a fall, or feeling low, your care team is told quickly so a real person can help. Mary never keeps secrets from your care team, and she will never pretend to be human.

Mary is not a replacement for people

Mary's job is to help your care team look after you between visits, not to replace them. If you ever need a real person, say so on the call and Mary will arrange it. In an emergency, always call 000.
