Inside the Grandparents Day Activity & Reflection Packs (Free Download)
For Grandparents Day 2026 we have published two free, print-ready packs. No sign-up, no watermarks — print them, photocopy them, adapt them. They live on our Grandparents Day hub, and this article explains what is inside and how teams are using them.
The Catholic Reflection & Activity Pack
Built for the World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly on 26 July 2026 and its theme, “I will never forget you” (Isaiah 49:15). It is written for pastoral care teams, parish visitation groups, and Catholic homes:
- • A short reflection on the 2026 theme, suitable for reading at a team meeting or before a service.
- • A call-week planner for 20 to 26 July: every resident and homebound parishioner matched to a caller, with a simple completion record.
- • Visit and conversation prompts for volunteers who feel unsure what to say.
- • Activity ideas connecting the parish, the school, and the home.
The general Activity Pack
A secular pack for any home or community group, usable for US Grandparents Day (13 September) and Australian Grandparents Day (25 October) alike:
- • Twelve intergenerational activity ideas, graded by effort, including options for residents who avoid group events.
- • Life-story prompts — the questions families always meant to ask.
- • A “grandfriends” pairing sheet for residents without visiting family.
- • A one-page evidence template: participants, outcomes, follow-ups — mapped to the social-connection expectations of Standard 1, so the day also strengthens your compliance record.
Both packs end with the same page: a plan for the week after. Grandparents Day works when something recurs — a visiting roster, a call schedule, a friendship. The packs are designed to leave one behind.
Download both from the Grandparents Day hub. If you would like help running a call-week at scale — every person, every week, documented — that is what careplans does; talk to us.
